Student Staff Growing Daily
The Girard JOURNAL, your on-line campus newspaper is growing rapidly. We're already widely read and admired. Our student staff grows daily. Today, we're proud to announce that Danny Levine has joined the student reporting staff of The Girard JOURNAL.
Danny came to Girard College in fourth grade, he's now entering 7th grade in September. Danny lives in South Philadelphia with his brother, age 9, and his mother. Danny wants to see his brother also attend Girard College. "He's scared to leave home" Danny says. His family was planning a trip to his homeland of Vietnam this summer, but now Dan says "We may just go to Detroit" [where he has other family members].
Danny says that Social studies is his favorite class, because history is interesting to him. This year he participated in "The Write Stuff"- a creative writing and journalism enrichment in the G-SAP (Girard Student Afterschool Program). He also was a part of the Girard Track team for boys.
The Girard JOURNAL takes great pride in welcoming Danny to the newspaper. We look forward to his articles next school year.
TOMORROW: Staff Profile-Malik Ray, a very 'dramatic' writer...
