New Staff Writer Signs on...

The Girard JOURNAL Welcomes Staff Writer
Khanh Le signs on for Summer 2006

The Girard JOURNAL welcomes Khanh Le as a staff writer for the Summer of 2006. Le is on the staff of the High School Newspaper, The Girard News. He's an energetic and tireless journalist. Besides his studies, he finds time to write articles; and manage the Girard College baseball team.

A lifelong student of Girard, Le hails from New Jersey and is a Sophomore student, expected to graduate in June of 2008. He's also active in the scouting program on campus. Meanwhile, The Girard JOURNAL takes pride in welcoming Khanh Le to the summer 2006 Camp Girard newspaper staff. "I'm looking forward to writing about Camp Girard this summer", said an enthusiastic Khanh.

Le was recruited by G-SAP (Girard Student Afterschool Program) facilitator D. Michael Blackie, who is also serving as the 'staff editor' of The Girard Journal. "I think Khanh shows exceptional journalism skills and will be an asset to our efforts", said Mr. Blackie.

Next school year, Blackie along with co-facilitator Stephanie Marudas have plans to bring audio and video to The Girard JOURNAL via podcast, [on-demand broadcast links] to supplement the text articles. Stay tuned to your on-line campus newspaper, The Girard JOURNAL.

School may be on vacation, but your mind is not. Read; stay informed. Be in-the-know.
